On August 21, 2017 Casper will host thousands of scientists, photographers, astronomers, eclipse chasers and families here to witness the first Total Solar Eclipse visible in the contiguous states in 39 years! Why Casper? If the predicted more than 80% chance of clear skies and a totality of 2 minutes and 26 seconds isn’t enough to draw you to our great city, during the 4 days building up to the Moon’s journey between the Sun and the Earth the city of Casper will host a series of events to entertain you, our guests.
Whether you are looking to become one with nature on the trails of Casper Mountain, take a step back in time on The Oregon Trail, experience the thriving art culture on a walk through downtown, get down to a local band or gaze at the stars in one of our “Dark Sky” parties you’ll find plenty to do during the Wyoming Eclipse Festival.
