Income Tax

No income taxes are charged either by the State of Wyoming or the City of Casper. Wyoming is one of only seven states that has no personal income tax. It should also be noted that there is no income tax on corporations.

Sales Tax

The State of Wyoming charges a 4% sales tax on most items throughout the state. In addition to that 4%, there is also an Optional One Percent Sales Tax that funds the City of Casper, the Natrona County government, and the other towns in Natrona County.

One Cent Sales Tax

The City of Casper uses the Optional One Cent almost exclusively for infrastructure, equipment, and to support local non-profit agencies.

The Optional One Cent Sales Tax is used to buy infrastructure and equipment for the City of Casper, and to support many non-profits throughout the city. The Optional One Cent must be re-approved by the voters every four years.
