Screening and therapy services come into the community with Casper CDC's new Mobile Screening Unit
[CASPER, WYOMING, May 1, 2018-] Child Development Center (CDC) of Casper, Wyoming is bringing their services out into the community with a new Mobile Screening Unit; an outfitted RV that provides free therapy and developmental screenings for children aged birth to 5.
CDC's free development screening services include hearing, vision, thinking and reasoning, communication skills, physical movement skills and more, so parents can ensure their child is progressing developmentally. The Mobile Screening Unit has been part of CDC's strategic plan for many years and has come to life with the help of a few local businesses.
When Sonny's RV saw the vision of the mobile screening unit they wanted to partner with CDC to make it reality, donating and remodeling an RV to fit CDC's needs for development screenings and therapy:
"We are proud to partner with community organizations such as the Child Development Center that serve so many children in our community," says Mike Rone, General Manager of Sonny's RV, "Many of our staff had a hand on remodeling the RV so that it would serve the purpose of providing therapy and screenings for kids. Overall we believe our community supports us buying local and in turn we want to support our community."
Pat Christensen with Kitchen Connections provided new counter tops throughout the RV and Tim with Profilms wrapped the RV with CDC's theme of Hope, titling the RV "Hope's Mobile Unit, Difference Makers on the Go."
Alisha Rone, Child Development Center's Interim Executive Director, states "Hope's Mobile Unit will help us to continue to meet CDC's mission of providing premier services to children and families of our community. Its purpose is to serve children in our community with free development screenings and therapy for children that qualify. We will be able to take the mobile unit to in-home day cares, preschools and community events and provide much needed services outside of CDC walls."
Keep your eyes open for Hope and the Mobile Screening Unit in the months to come. The mobile unit will serve its first preschool, Imagination Station, on May 18th.
Child Development Center exists to provide premier, family-focused, developmentally appropriate services for children birth through age five.
