Fidget Quilts for Alzheimer's Awareness Month
Monday, November 5

Make a fidget quilt for your loved one this Alzheimer's Awareness Month on Monday, November 5 from 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. at the Natrona County Library's Creation Station. Register online at bit.ly/fidget9am for the 9 a.m. session and bit.ly/fidget2pm for the 2 p.m. session. All supplies provided at no cost. Limit of 8 participants per session. The Library's Creation Station is a flexible, community, collaborative makerspace for individuals and small groups of all ages who can use STEAM-related supplies and equipment to bring their inventions and creations to life. Tween Monday: Thanksgiving Centerpiece
Monday, November 5

Keep your Thanksgiving table light, bright, and fun by adding decor that's easy, inexpensive, and so cute that it might even grab the attention away from the turkey. Children in grades 4-6 will have the chance to embellish dishes and table settings with colorful DIY paper pumpkins, folded, twisted, and stacked to perfection on Monday, November 5 at 4 p.m. at the Natrona County Library. StoryTime: TinyTots
Tuesday, November 6

It’s never too early to introduce your baby or toddler to the wonderful world of books and reading. Together you will discover the joy of songs, finger plays, simple books and bouncing rhymes. The Natrona County Library’s StoryTime: TinyTots for babies and toddlers is held each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Library. Reading the West Book Discussion: Wyoming Range War

The Natrona County Library and Fort Caspar Museum will host a book discussion series celebrating all things Western, from rugged heroes and horses to books that ride off into the sunset. Join us Tuesday, November 6 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fort Caspar Museum to discuss "Wyoming Range War: The Infamous Invasion of Johnson County" by John W. Davis. If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider attending our monthly Wednesday Writer's group, held the first Wednesday of every month at 10 a.m. It's open to all writers—from those just picking up a pencil through published authors—offering encouragement, inspiration, and motivation. After School at the Library: National Geographic Giant Map: North America

Dementia: Demystifying the Changes
Wednesday, November 7

A community discussion and reception on dementia will be held on Wednesday, November 7 at 6 p.m. at the Natrona County Library. Kyle Page, PhD, ABPP, will give a presentation titled, "When Dementia Comes to Dinner: Acknowledging the Changes, Fears and Pursuing Positive Aging" followed by a panel discussion comprised of Kyle Page, PhD, ABPP; David Wheeler, MD; Neil Short, Certified Trainer; and Scott Soulek, RPH. Dr. Kyle Page is a board-certified geriatric psychologist who focuses on improving dementia care skills for healthcare providers and families. He earned his PhD from the University of North Texas and completed a fellowship in clinical geropsychologyat the VA Boston Healthcare System. Formally from the Cheyenne VA Medical Center, Dr. Page currently works on a secured dementia unit at the Central IowaVAhospital and serves as a national VA training consultant, helping other VA nursing home units in implementing a dementia behavior management program. His clinical focus is on dementia behavior management, staff training, and evaluating decision-making abilities in older adults. His research interests and publications span various areas of geriatric mental health, including fear of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

Coloring books and pages will be available for you to turn into works of art. Colored pencils, pens, crayons, and markers also will be provided. StoryTime with Therapy Dogs of Casper

Paws to Read with a furry friend! Dogs and handlers will attend StoryTime on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the Natrona County Library. Children can sit withtherapydogs during StoryTime and spend time reading with them before and after the program. All dogs are certified and licensed through Therapy Dogs of Casper.
