Casper, Wyoming (October 2, 2018) –
Casper Ice Arena announces the Casper Middle School Hockey League (CMSHL). An alternative to travel sports, the non-checking CMSHL offers youth, ages 11-14 years old, competition at the local rink only. Practices and games will be scheduled between 3:15pm and 5:30pm two days per week, Mondays through Thursdays, November 6th to January 31st. No practice or games are scheduled during holiday breaks from school. Recreation Supervisor, BLu McGrath says, “We’re offering this opportunity for middle school students because they get out of school at 2:45pm, earlier than other grades.”
The CMSHL is designed to introduce beginner athletes to ice hockey. McGrath describes a beginner as youth with less than three years of skating or hockey experience and/or only interested in a 12-week season. “Our goal with this program is to provide an ice hockey experience to traditional athletes, overall making more balanced youth athletes in our community,” says director of Casper Skating School, Chad Green.
Registration for this middle school league is at the Casper Ice Arena or online at www.activecasper.net
. Search “CMSHL” and register for the league and/or a FREE clinic October 27th or 30th. The fee for league is $195 at the time of registration. Players are responsible for their own protective equipment. A uniform (jersey and socks only) is included with the registration fee.
