Finger Crochet Project: Scarf

Fall is just around the corner, so get ready by finger crocheting a scarf with us on Monday, October 15 from 10 to 2 noon and 2 to 4 p.m. in the Natrona County Library's Creation Station. Register online at bit.ly/scarf10am for the 10 a.m. session and bit.ly/scarf2pm for the 2 p.m. session. All supplies provided at no cost. Limit of 10 participants per session. The Library's Creation Station is a flexible, community, collaborative makerspace for individuals and small groups of all ages who can use STEAM-related (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) supplies and equipment to bring their inventions and creations to life. Complete the FAFSA

If you're planning to attend college next year and need financial aid, then it's important to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Casper College and University of Wyoming Scholarship Portals. A representative from the University of Wyoming at Casper Educational Opportunity Center will provide FAFSA and scholarship assistance on Tuesday, October 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Natrona County Library's Tech Center. Please bring 2017 W2 tax infoand social security numbers for both the student and parent(s) as well as a FSA ID (which can be created as you begin). The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)for the 2019–2020 school year opens October 1. FAFSA is free and can be accessed online at fafsa.ed.gov. Call 577-7323 for more information.

This month we'll cover budget pages. Maybe you’re looking to keep better track of your spending or trying to save for that dream vacation. Maybe you just want a handy way to check if you remembered to pay the cable bill that doesn't involve login passwords. Natrona County School Board candidates will participate in a public forum on Wednesday, October 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Natrona County Library. The forum will be moderated, with candidates having opportunities to respond to questions and concerns raised by citizens.Submit questions in-person the night of the forum, or in advance by emailing reference@natronacountylibrary.org. Please use "School Board Forum" in the subject line. The forum is free, open to all ages, and will be streamed on Facebook Live. In this month's class, local NCGS members will discuss online genealogical resources available through the library including library databases, the library catalog, city directories, and other library resources. Learn about the Natrona County Library's Carvey on Friday, October 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. A staff member will provide an overview of the Carvey software, Easel, in the Tech Center followed by a demonstration of the Carvey in the Creation Station as well as answer any questions attendees may have. An afternoon book discussion, sponsored by the Natrona County Library, will be held on Saturday, October 20 at 2 p.m. at Metro Coffee Co.Participants will discuss "Nightmares!" by Jason Segel and Kristen Miller.
