Erin Helms, former Program and Event Manager of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra chosen as Executive Director for the Casper Area Chamber of Commerce.
CASPER, WY – The Casper Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce Erin Helms as our new Executive Director.
Erin Helms has been hired as the new Executive Director of the Casper Area Chamber of Commerce. Erin brings over 25 years of customer service and management experience to her new role as the Executive Director. Ms. Helms will begin her tenure as Executive Director on February 18, 2019.
Ms. Helms has been the Program and Event Manager with the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra since moving to Casper 3 years ago. She has also been involved with the Tourism and Hospitality Advisory Council to help promote collaboration with hotels, restaurants and other businesses to increase tourism in Natrona County.
Erin is engaging, energetic, experienced, and passionate about the Casper community. "I am honored and excited to be the next Executive Director for the Casper Area Chamber of Commerce.” said Helms. “The opportunity to work in such a proud and strong community, under the direction of a remarkable Board of Directors is few and far between. I look forward to working with our outstanding members, various committees, and volunteers."
Erin grew up in a small rural community in Northern California where she learned the importance of an honest days work and the value of treating people with respect and kindness. These traits have served her well throughout her career and helped to develop a strong work ethic, integrity and professionalism.
Board President Joshua Kalinowski expressed his excitement in the Chambers new hire. "Erin brings with her a very qualified resume, in addition her excitement and enthusiasm at the Executive Directors position is contagious. Erin has big shoes to fill from the amazing efforts of Gilda Lara however, we believe that she will do a wonderful job moving the Chamber and it's members towards a successful future!"
Upon moving to Casper, Erin had a strong desire to embrace her new community. She spent time exploring the area, visiting local businesses and meeting new people. “It was so easy to love this community and become passionate about what possibilities are out there for the future,” said Helms. “As I went through the interview process with the Search Committee, I found myself becoming more and more excited for the opportunities ahead. I cannot wait to get started!”
Her first official week will include the Business After Hours Winter Carnival Expo & Trade Show at the Casper Event Center on Tuesday, February 19th. This is a wonderful event to participate in as well as to come and learn about many of Casper’s local businesses all under one roof. Attendance is complimentary for Chamber Members; $15 for non-yet Chamber Members. Contact the Chamber for available booth space - Vendors are encouraged to have some sort of carnival themed game for all attendees to simply play OR to enter any drawings.
