Meet the Sewing Machine and Serger

The Natrona County Library invites you to come meet the sewing machine and serger on Wednesday, July 18 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Creation Station. A staff member will provide an overview, demonstration, and tutorial as well as answer any questions attendees may have. The Library's Creation Station, open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 2 to 5 p.m., is a flexible, community, collaborative makerspace for individuals and small groups who can use STEAM-related (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) supplies and equipment to bring their inventions and creations to life. The Natrona County Library will screen a musical double feature (and provide free popcorn) on Saturday, July 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. In the first film, a poet falls for a beautiful courtesan whom a jealous duke covets. In the second film, after being kicked out of a rock band, Dewey Finn becomes a substitute teacher of a strict elementary private school, only to try and turn it into a rock band. Both movies are rated PG-13. The Library's music-inspired summer reading program, "Libraries Rock," runs June 1 through August 31. Adults do not need to register but can pick up a summer reading game board at any branch and online.
